Will this be true? And is it a smart choice? The Ndc have always acted in some way like the Npp when they all want power. In the previous elections, Ghanaians were used as mediums for votes and most people were told different stories. People were told that their lives would be better because there were going to be less and less taxes. The Vice President, his excellency Dr. Bawumiah promised Ghanaians that there will be abundance of work and food and that taxes were going to be reduced or stopped for some people. There were issues of reviving the economy together with many stories which all turned out to be stories told for votes.
These are the things most Ghanaians are concerned about now and not the many promises by members of the various political parties. After these failed promises, we are seeing another promise from Mahama concerning the e-levy. The question here is that will Mahama be able to live up to his promises made today? The internet will definitely remind him of these promises made but must we cast our votes because one man says he will cancel the e-levy if he wins power?
The indirect campaign messages are everywhere and the e-levy has commenced. Once the economy runs into bankruptcy due to unnecessary spendings, will the Ndc be able to cancel the e-levy when they assume office when the e-levy has already started generating income for the government? e-levy is doing what it was intended for and projects are ongoing as alleged by the Npp, will Mahama still cancel the e-levy? Will Mahama be able to cancel the e-levy forever and prevent Ghanaians from paying it? If yes, then how are they going to fund for the various projects that they are going to begin as well as the other projects they have left behind and left to rot as well by the incumbent government?
