A noted Ghanaian citizen and a Senior Vice President of IMANI-Africa, Kofi Bentil believes John Dramani Mahama and the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] has just won for themselves 100,000 votes from Ghanaians with John Mahama’s new connotation.
During today’s lecture dubbed [Ghana At A Crossroads] where he spoke lengthily on the just commenced E-Levy taxation and his agenda against it.
President John Dramani Mahama made mentioned that “We in the NDC do not oppose taxation as a principle. We will not be pretentious and couch fanciful slogans to condemn the principle of taxation like the NPP did in the past. We are, however, implacably opposed to distortionary and burdensome taxes like the e-levy that only force Ghanaians to endure more suffering.
A new National Democratic Congress Government, God willing and with the votes of the sovereign people of Ghana in 2025 will repeal the E-Levy Act.”
Kofi Bentil hinted on his Facebook wall that “NDC promise to scrap E-Levy, they just won 100,000 votes“. This might be quite revealing though but might carry an iota of relevance.
Many Ghanaians seem not to be interested in the rolling out of the E-Levy hence will surely side with former president John Dramani Mahama and NDC on this matter.
