With seven matches to end the Ghana Premier League, GPL campaign, the race for the top scorers award is becoming keener after each game.
Yaw Annor of AshantiGold SC scored four goals over the weekend as the Miners thrashed Berekum Chelsea 5-1 at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi to move in contention for the title.
The four goals he scored, takes his tally for the season to 16, just two goals behind Asante Kotoko’s Cameroonian import Frank Etouga Mbella who has netted 18 times this season after his goal for the Porcupines last weekend at Sogakope.
Following the top two on the scorers chat with 13 goals each are Augustine Okrah of Bechem United and Bright Adjei of Aduana FC.
Two other players, Umar Bashiru of Karela United and Agyenim Boateng Mensah of Dreams FC, have scored 10 goals so far in the ongoing competition as they keep pace with the leaders.
On nine goals each are Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Ibrahim Laar of Accra Great Olympics and Techiman Eleven Wonders respectively.
The aforementioned players will continue to shape up for the rest of the campaign as they chase the top scorers award at the end of the season.
