Asante Kotoko have pipped WAFA to stay on top of the Ghana Premier League table. Cameroonian international Frank Etouga scored the only goal for the club as he grabbed his 18th goal of the season. Asante Kotoko continue to lead the pack with 55 points.
Following the commencement of the game, Asante Kotoko made an early attempt at goal but WAFA’s goalkeeper Kwadwo Bonus was at full duty to save the ball. WAFA responded after Andres Appau had lost a ball but their attack was as not potent to seal a goal.Â
WAFA and Asante Kotoko intensified the tempo of the game as the pitch added another bite to procedure.
WAFA had a glorious moment to put themselves into the lead following a blunder but Emmanuel Agyemang missed it after attempting attempting a curler at goal.Â
Fabio Gama and Salifu Mudasiru surfaced into events as the former located the latter, but Mudasiru’s volley soared across goal post.
Derrick Antwi had his free kick blocked by Kotoko’s defenders after Mfegue had committed a foul close to the box.
After an exchange of passes between Nettey and Mfegue, Mudasiru Salifu was fed but frittered away another golden opportunity.
Despite decent chances carved by the two sides, goal evaded both teams, ending the first half goalless. Though it ended barren, WAFA appeared motivated to break the deadlock.Â
The early part of the second half was not different as chances were blown apart by WAFA and Asante Kotoko.Â

Following the goal, WAFA made numerous efforts to cancel out the lead but their efforts were not convincing, leaving Asante Kotoko defenders to enjoy some moments of the game. The two sides kept probing but had to end the entire game with a lone goal for Asante Kotoko.
