In the face of the EIU report, John Mahama vindicating Bawumia, and the economic progress debate between the NPP and the NDC, here’s what the former DCE for Upper Denkyira West Mr. Ambrose Amoah-Ashyia on Ekosiisen has to say:
In 2016 before we left power, our budget deficit was 6.1%. In 2020, the NPP’s budget deficit was 6.5%, so how can you say a budget deficit of 6.5% is better than 6.1? We also left a GDP of 58%, the NPP has gone up to 83% under Bawumia and Nana Addo.
If it is not hatred, how can you add Bawumia and Nana Akufo-Addo and say they have performed better than John Dramani Mahama? When you talk of Mahama, we make mention of infrastructure, good governance, and improvement.
Taking the record of when Mahama was the head of the Economic Management Team to that of Bawumia, we’ve had growth of 14% and single digits for inflation for three years; we have nothing as such for Bawumia.
Talking about output, you can’t compare oranges to apples. John Mahama is the real deal.
