The Managing Editor at the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt in an interview with the host of Kokrokoo, Kwame Sefa Kayi reveals that the 1992 constitution of Ghana was approved because the leaders in that era wanted to kick out the late Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings and his Government from power.
According to Kwesi Pratt, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his speech yesterday disclosed that the 1992 constitution of Ghana was approved by over ninety percent (90%) votes and that is true but the ancient leaders were not interested in the constitution.
Kwesi Pratt said, the ancient leaders considered the 1992 constitution of Ghana as bad and never voted for it to be approved because it is best for us but they were rather tricking Jerry John Rawlings and his Government.
This means, the 1992 constitution was approved for a purpose and Kwesi Pratt said, he was expecting Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make that statement in delivering his speech but he was rather concerned on Democracy.
Kwesi Pratt ended by saying, this is the aspect of the history of the 1992 constitution of Ghana that the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo should have included during the address to the nation.
