Ghana is blessed with so many athletic talents. We need to invest and develop them for the future. Two Ghanaian sprinters are making us proud and dominating the senior mens outdoor 100m times this year. They are having the top 2 fastest times this year. Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Paul Amoah are having 9.90s and 9.94s respectively this year.
Government must start investing in this guys and others now. They must start camp immediately after their college season comes to an end. This will enable them prepare adequately and give good performances for the upcoming world championships and also the commonwealth games. They need to practice more. Having 2 sub 10 seconds in your relay team is a plus. It means you can be a world beater. Very little on our part has gone into the development and training of these guys. Their respective schools have put in the hard the work to get them to produce such performances. We can only take advantage if we plan well, provide support when they’re out of school.
