The Deputy Minister of Health, Bernard Okoe Boye, and the Managing Editor at the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt challenged themselves on coup d’etat in an interview with the host of Kokrokoo, Kwame Sefa Kayi.
According to Kwesi Pratt, he has witnessed the disadvantages of coup d’etat and does not want Ghanaians or any prominent persons to entertain it because of its result.
Since Kwesi Pratt does not want anyone to entertain coup d’etat, he said the government should always make sure they abide by the 1992 constitution because any unconditional decision or violation draws coup d’etat closer.
This made Bernard Okoe Boye interfere and according to him, the 1992 constitution of Ghana has solutions to any breaches, and coup d’etat is never part.
Bernard Okoe Boye said the 1992 constitution has helped them to solve many issues successfully in the supreme court without the use of weapons and shedding blood. Therefore the coup itself is a breach and it will only give birth to more breaches.
