President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will address the nation today on the referendum on approving the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and the way forward for a democratic nation.
His announcement post on Facebook has rather generated massive grudging and total distasteful disapproval over his attempt in celebrating what has not been outrightly observed by his government as per comments from worried Ghanaians.
It’s not surprising that Ghanaians have plunged into his post with total disagreement with his agenda of celebrating the Constitution. Many have it that, the Constitution is only working for the few ruling class elites and that of their families alone and not the poor nor the less privileged.
Here are randomly collated reactions from Facebook on the yet to be aired address on the referendum on approving the 1992 Constitution of Ghana by the president:
• The constitution has equal rights and representation for all. SALL doesn’t have a representation under your watch and what are you coming to tell us? You are a walking contradiction.
• Please, Mr.President, I voted for you, because I believed you would help change portions of this constitution that have out-lived its essence, but it’s so sad that I am highly disappointed in you and your governance.
• You didn’t celebrate a man that fought into bringing the country out of colonialism from the British yesterday, yet you have all the time today to address Ghanaians on a referendum on approving the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, may God help us all.
