The Ghana National Association of Teachers, (GNAT), has announced the increase of it’s dues for cancer fund. According to GNAT the increment of the dues takes effect in this month of April.
In a message sent across to GNAT members via SMS on Tuesday, 26th April 2022, they wrote;
“UNION ALERT: Dear Comrades, in view of the National Delegates Conference Decision – 2022 and subsequent to the Membership Education on the adjustment of the Cancer Fund from GHC2 to GHC5, kindly be informed that same has been communicated to CAGD, to effect it in APRIL 2022. Thank you for your support. God bless you.”
On GNAT page on Facebook,any people have reacted to the increment. A user wrote;
“Just look at current situation economic hardships instead of shouting louder for salary increment you are there adjusting the cancer fund from Gh2 to Gh5 . To effect it in April 2022.”
Others also said that GNAT should focus on the upgrading and promotion of teachers which has been stagnant for the time being instead of increasing dues.
