The past few weeks have been nightmarish for Asante Kotoko. Things are not going as planned for them. They should have wrapped up their premier league title win by now if they had been more clinical and focused. Fortunately for them, their rivals are not also pulling their weight making their recent losses virtually insignificant. Their Cameroonian duo of Mfegue and Mbella have been at the fore front of their title assault this season. These two have contributed majority of the goals Kotoko has scored this season.
The happy ending to their season might be curtailed if they don’t take action now. According to reports, Kotoko haven’t finished paying for the agreed transfer fee of Georges Mfegue. They have only paid 15,000 euros of the agreed 30,000 euros. According to the club president of Avion Academy the team they bought Mfegue from they will be forced to report Kotoko to FIFA if they don’t pay the balance by the 1st of May. “They were supposed to complete the payment by March 15 but they have not done so to date,” President of Avion Academy, Pierre Batamak is quoted as saying by Kick442.com”. If payment is not made by May 1st, we will work with our legal team and report Kotoko to FIFA,” he added.
