Official EPL Team of the Week After Monday Night Football

Just like weekly adventurous, the English Premier League once again produces some stunning performances and in such regards, this is a team of the week after the last fixture between Crystal Palace and Leeds United drew.

Goalkeeper

Averagely 2.1 goals conceded by goalkeepers this week, Leeds United illan Meslier kept the goal line clean protecting it from the hands of Zaha, and the likes at the Selhurst Park on Monday. He sighted seven saves and two clearances.

Defenders

At the center back is Liverpool Joel Matip paired with Tottenham Christian Romero – the duo provided a sensational relief at the back in a calm manner and a mindset of control with expert depending skills, making them the perfect duet in the role.

In the fullback role, there was no competition other than Marcos Alonso and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Andrew Robertson might be the choice by many, however, comparing the strength of their opponents – Alonso is the right choice, he assisted and kept a clean sheet as well. Trent, on other hand, also kept the lines busy and summoned several key passes along with exclusive passes.

Midfielders

Assessing this position thoroughly, only three players come to mind thus Newcastle United Bruno Guimaraes, Manchester City Kevin De Bruyne, and Southampton James Ward-Prowse.

Lasted only 57-minutes on the pitch, the Belgian performance was more like a full time, assisted twice, loaded four key passes, and was the second-highest-rated player. From two goals down at Brighton & Hove Albion, Ward-Prowse produced a sensational relief all from outside the box. Won the star performer previously, Guimaraes geared up with a masterclass performance that earned his name on the scoresheet – his 4th this season.

Forwards

Haul hero – Gabriel Jesus teamed up with international teammate Joelinton and Crystal Palace Wilfried Zaha. Suffered goal drought a while ago – Jesus brought some fireworks this week involved in City’s five goals scored (four goals + an assist) against Watford. Joelinton also hopped on a brace as revenge for their last meeting stunt by Teemu Pukki.

In a goalless draw against Leeds United – Zaha’s performance was pure quality in terms of dribble attempts (8), shots on goal (7), won-ground duels (16), and fouled received (4), absolute mind-blowing performance.
