Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay urges team to win the GPL title for him

Injured Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Nkuku Blay has urged his teammates to win this season’s championship as a tribute to him.

Blay, rejoined the Porcupines just before the second round of the campaign, but, his season has been cut short by injury.

He has undergone a successful surgery on his injured leg and will miss the rest of the campaign.

He has however urged his colleagues to win the ongoing 2021-22 Ghana Premier League, GPL title for him after contributing to the process.

“Please win the league for me”, Blay wrote on social media saying further that it is a trophy he has never won and will be glad to lay a hand on it.

The player added that he will be emotionally happy if this would be achieved by the Porcupines who are the bookmakers favourites to win the diadem.

Asante Kotoko are eight points ahead on the table after 25 matches as they seek to win a first GPL crown since the season of 2013/14.

They will play Legon Cities this afternoon at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi where they will look to preserve their lead at the top of the stairs.

Blay, will not be part of the squad for this fixture, but, he will be at the stadium to support his colleagues as they aim for the three points to cushion them up for the rest of the campaign.

The ongoing GPL has nine matches to go and, it will take a monumental collapse for Asante Kotoko to lose the title.
