The Ghanaian television presenter, musician, and model, Deborah Owusu-Bonsu, better known by her stage name Sister Derby has explained how she got the opportunity to offer her Master’s Degree in London. According to Sister Deborah, she got her first degree from the Department of Publishing Studies, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
After this course, the two lectures standing beside her in the picture below assisted her to do her internship in a publishing house in Trenton, New Jersey, United States of America. And it was this internship that made it possible for her to attain her second degree, a master’s degree in Book/Journal Publishing from the University of the Arts London.
Sister Deborah said that these lecturers have been so supportive especially, Dr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo (the man in batakari). And she was honored when they invited her as a guest during a program for Creative Artist students at KNUST.
This is what Sister Deborah wrote on her official Instagram page:
“A couple of weeks back with my favorite lecturers (Mr. Appiah and Dr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo) from the Department of Publishing Studies, KNUST where I got my first degree. I was invited to be honored as a Creative Artist from the department making them proud.
These guys made it possible for me to do my internship semester (3rd year) outside Ghana. I did an internship in a publishing house in Trenton, New Jersey, USA.
My publishing course from KNUST also made it possible for me to attain a 2nd degree, a Masters in Book/Journal Publishing from the University of the Arts London, the London College of Communication where I graduated in 2009.
I’m so grateful to Dr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo (posted on right in batakari) for his support towards me even till now as a Creative Artist. My love was also there to support as always and the reception from the students was beautiful”.
