An alleged Ghanaian thief has been recorded on camera kneeling and carrying a block on his head. A lot of people living within the vicinity have surrounded this young man and some of them are giving their opinions on what should be done to him for stealing. This is a young man who is probably between the ages of 20 and 27 years.
His facial looks show that the young guys who caught him have beaten him very well. You can even see that his face has swollen. The thief was afraid that these people will beat him to death so he was doing everything they were telling him. One of the guys who were canning the thief was overhead in the video saying this in the typical Twi language, “Sing a gospel song for us so that we set you free. Any gospel song you know”.
The guy then started singing one local song titled, “Aseda ye Onyame ne dea” which is translated as “Thanks belongs to God”. However, the people didn’t stop beating this thief after singing the song. They were canning him with ropes and belts. All this while, he was still carrying the block and looking very tired.
A little girl captured at the scene was sadly crying for this alleged thief to be released. According to the people, she is the sister of the thief. Some of the people in the video said that he stole someone’s GH¢ 20.00 and this is the reason he is going through this punishment.
Some Ghanaians after coming across this video started laughing. Others said that what the people are doing is not right. How can they beat him for stealing just GH¢20.00? He probably stole it to buy food.
