I recall vividly the speed with which President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo instructed the IGP of the Ghana Police Service to as a matter of urgency arrest and prosecute former Ghana Football Association boss Kwasi Nyantakyi over the Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé in which he was mentioned.
The president mentioned among other things the need for immediate action to avoid bringing the image of the presidency and the president into disrepute, as being one of the reasons for his action. Further, the President believed all Nyantakyi said were lies and influence peddling.
Today, why has the president not done the same, does it mean there is a whole lot of truth in Madam Evelyn Aidoo aka Serwaa Broni’s case, that the sitting president used state agencies to intimidate and stage robberies, that the president abused his office by his conduct, that persons were allowed to board the presidential jet without security clearance, or only posing a risk to himself and all aboard but abuse of the state asset?
Well, to even think our media chose silence over scrutiny means the problem isn’t the regime but the media whose silence emboldens the regime, the media who act as highly compromised, the media that have become the bastion of the hypocrisy of cherry-picking
In it all, you and I know the truth. As for the morality bit, if Rebecca Akufo-Addo is willing to stay mute or stomach all of it, then we as Ghanaians have a reason to worry.
One thing is certain, the President is an all-around underperformer, an absolute failure and we must act as responsible citizens by activating article 69.
John Dramani Mahama, you deserve to be canonized.
