The National Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has surprisingly revealed that the report by the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) on our upcoming elections conforms to the expectations of the NDC.
While reacting to the EIU report on Joy News on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, Sammy Gyamfi revealed that the report is not new because it aligns with the NDC’s expectations. He revealed the NDC will win the 2024 elections irrespective of who leads the party but revealed that John Mahama is the surest bet to win the 2024 elections for the NDC.
“Their findings, specifically their baseline forecast for the 2024 general election, aligns with our own expectation and the analysis of the situation in the country as far as the 2024 election is concerned.”
“The NDC will win the 2024 elections regardless of who leads the party and also John Mahama in my humble opinion, is our surest bet relative to winning the 2024 elections. He got 1.5million more votes in 2024 than he got in 2016, and therefore it cannot be true that with John Mahama, NDC cannot win the election” Sammy Gyamfi revealed on Joy News.
The EIU in their latest report revealed that “The next parliamentary and presidential elections are due in 2024. Under constitutionally mandated term limits, the incumbent President, Mr. Akufo-Addo, cannot run for a third term. The former President, John Mahama, is reportedly considering running again, but we expect the opposition NDC to try to revitalize its prospects with a fresh candidate.”
