A prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elikplim Agbemava has boldly revealed that the Minority shouldn’t have walked out during the passage of the E-levy bill.

On March 29, 2022, the majority in Parliament passed the E-levy bill after the minority walked out of House. The Minority has since challenged the legitimacy of the passage of the E-levy bill.

Meanwhile, during an interview with Joy News, a former Presidential Aspirant of the NDC, Elikplim Agbemava strongly disagreed with the minority for the action they took on the day. He revealed the minority should have stayed and voted on the E-levy rather than walking out.

” The walk-out shouldn’t have happened. I believe that the Minority should have stayed in the House on March 29, 2022. If they stayed and lost the votes, Ghanaians would have known that indeed they’ve fought and lost at the last hour. To walk out meant that, we left the majority side to freely pass the E-levy and for me, that was completely wrong.” He revealed on Joy News.

Thanks for reading this article. Do you agree with Mr. Elikplim on what he’s saying or do you think he is rather completely wrong?
