The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service has finally uncovered a room full of fake currency in Accra. A dead body believed to have been hidden under a heap of sand was also exhumed for autopsy.
In the process, three suspected criminals namely, Seidu Samyaley, 28 years, Samuel Yormekpe, 42 years, and Nicholas Atsidokpo Kade 40 years were arrested.
Briefing the media, the Police explained that, they picked up an intelligence that a man who approached the three suspects for fake money was killed and buried under the heap of sand.
Upon reaching the crime scene, the three suspects tried run away in a parked Toyota corolla vehicle. They were Overpowered and arrested. A search in their apartment revealed a room packed fully with fake money. They were in the denominations of 200, 100 and 50 Ghana cedis. Some fake dollars were also retrieved.
A machine believed to be a fake money printer was also retrieved. The dead body which was exhumed under the sand has since been sent to the Ghana Police Service Hospital for autopsy and further investigation.
