Asante Kotoko sensation Frank Mbella Etouga has equalled the record of club legend Eric Bekoe after notching his 17th goal of the season in the clash against Real Tamale United over the weekend. Eric Bekoe also scored 17 goals in the 2007/2008 Ghana Premier League season to win the top scorers award for that season. His goals aided the club to annex the league title for that season. He is on course to break the record of the club legend and set a record of his own when they meet Legon Cities in their next league encounter.
With 9 matches remaining in the Ghana Premier League, Mbella is likely to break the record of Hearts of Oak legend Ishmael Addo who scored 22 goals on a single premier league season. The Cameroonian import has been at the fore front of the Kotoko attack since joining the club with his country man Georges Mfegue.
