Ghana’s Economy Can Be Effectively Transformed If The Citizens Avoid Corruption – Bishop Adu.

By King Amoah.

The founder and leader of the New Jerusalem Chapel located at Kumasi Sokoban Ampayoo in the Ashanti Region, Bishop Dr.John Yaw Adu has alleged that the economy of the country can be effectively transformed if the citizens change their mindsets and avoid bribery and corruption.

He noted that the country is though blessed with various natural resources that could satisfy the needs of its citizens, alleged corruption and bribery are setting back the growth of the economy.

The man of God made the assertion on Sunday April 17 2022 when he was preaching a sermon to round off the Easter activities.

Quoting his sermon from the Book of Matthew Chapter 28 verses number 1 to 15 going, Bishop Adu underscored that bribery and corruption form part of activities that set back the progress of people or economy.

The Bishop cited Thomas Iscariot one of the disciples of Jesus Christ who through bribery, betrayed his master.(Christ).

The alleged bribery the Bishop stated, was further exhibited by some guards after the crucification of Jesus .

The said guards were said to have been given bribes by some chiefs to watch the tomb of Jesus on whether his (Christ) disciples would secretly go and take away the buried body to the claim that he would

resurrect after three days of his death.

This was because Jesus Christ had prophesied about his death and resurrection which to the critics the statement was blasphemous.

The clergy indicated that after taken bribes to cause harm but to no avail, both Thomas Iscariot and the guards regretted their actions that bribes cannot save them.

Bishop Dr J.Y.Adu alleged that the issue of bribes that contributed to the betrayal and death of Jesus Christ is still reigning in the society.

Today the clergy alleged, business communities tend to pay bribes and avoid paying taxes for national development, officials demand bribes or ask female job seekers for sex before employment, inflation of contracts cost, insertion of ledger accounts in financial and public institutions to pay ways to steal, abuses of business ethics among other criminal offences are some of the corrupt practices the country is experiencing now.

Bishop Adu regretted that those who preside over such alleged bribery and corruption cases are though seen in churches and mosque on Sundays and Fridays, yet they call themselves as Christians and Moslems

Adding that they failed to follow the footsteps of Christ and Mohammed who were righteous men by their deeds.

According to the Bishop no one should link the alleged underdeveloped situation of the country to lack of natural resources, instead we have to blame ourselves for the economic challenges confronting the country.

In order to reverse the trend, Bishop Adu charged Ghanaians to take advantage of the death and resurrection of Christ to turn over a new leaf for God’s intervention towards the transformation of the economy

.

Through the blood of Jesus Christ all sins have been forgiven today, therefore we need to change our mindsets and come together as one people to build an effective economy, the Bishop concluded.
