Record Ghana goals scorer Asamoah Gyan has reiterated his desire to play for Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko before he retires from football.
The former Black Stars captain said if he is to return to the field, he will certainly like to play for the record Ghana champions.
Gyan, is currently out of contract having ended his stay with another Ghana Premier League, GPL side Legon Cities last season.
The former Rennes, Sunderland and Liberty Professionals player is currently a free agent and is open to a move to any club.
But Gyan told Accra based radio station Joy FM that he is an ardent supporter of Africa’s club of the 20th century and, will like to play for the Garden City club next season.
The player is currently working on his fitness as he shapes up for next season believing he would be in good condition to return to the pitch at the start of the next campaign.
Asante Kotoko are currently top of the standing in the ongoing GPL and, will most likely win the competition at the end of the campaign.
It will be interesting to see whether they will be interested in a move for Gyan especially so as they will need some experienced characters in their squad for the African campaign should they qualify.
A fully fit Gyan in good condition, and on form, will aid the Porcupines in their quest to excel in all competitions next season and, the onus will be on both parties to play their part well to make that a reality ie if the player can stay fit and be ready to play and, whether Asante Kotoko will be willing to offer him a contract.
