Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, were expecting twins but the Manchester United Superstar confirmed that while his son died at birth, his daughter was born healthy.
In his Instagram post, Ronaldo was quoted as saying ”It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away.
It is the greatest pain any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
Ronaldo also expressed his gratitude to the doctors and nurses who did everything in the situation.
” We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for the expert care and support”
The five-time Ballon D’or winner and former Real Madrid icon was very devastated by his son’s death.
”We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.” The statement concluded.
Ronaldo has since asked for privacy for himself and his partner.

Manchester United tweeted: ”Your pain is our pain, sending love and strength to you and entire family at this time.”
The Official Twitter account of the Portuguese National Team posted: ”Muita forca, capital.” Meaning: ” A lot of strength, Captain.”
