There is still so much brouhaha over the Supreme Court’s decision to bar James Gyakye Quayson from performing his duties as an MP. In a 5-2 decision the apex court chose to bar the law maker until all substantive cases about him have been settled. The NDC under whose ticket James stood in the 2020 elections have also mentioned that they might appeal the court hearing.
On Alhaji and Alhaji, Bernard Mornah, former PNC secretary raised questions about the ruling of the court. He questioned why the Supreme Court hasn’t barred Korsah, MP for Techiman South until his case have been decided. He also questioned why President Akufo-Addo was not barred from working as president during the Supreme Court election petition hearing but allowed him to continue working.
According to Mr. Mornah, all isn’t well because it looks like there is a deliberate plot by some people to use all means to outwit others. Bernard Mornah cited a number of scenarios where people being investigated are still allowed to hold their office till all is done. He noted that with the way things are going the NDC should forget about a review because nothing different will come out.
