A Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana has hit hard on the government of Ghana for their recent increment of public sector workers salaries.
According to Gyampo, Ghanaians are not “fools” to watch the government increase the salaries of Ghanaians by just 7% while the government’s agencies who acts as caretakers of the country’s resources take over 70%.
He made this revelation on his Facebook page.
He also made it clear that, there will be industrial harmony in the country unless there is equity. He proved his point BH referring to Article 71 of the Public and Servants acts.
Professor Gyamfo wants fairness in the payment structure of Ghanaians in order to ensure harmony in the country.
This comes after the government increased the salaries of public sector workers by 7%. The previous proposed increment rate was 4% but has been changed this very year to 7%.
Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, made this announcement at the 6th Quadrennial National Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in Kumasi.
