The president of Ghana has taken to his social media handle this morning to promise the entire country that he will continue to invest more in education and teachers. He wrote, “my government has invested more in education and teachers and will continue to ensure that opportunities to access or own home during and after retirement are available to teachers”.
He went on to prove his claims by showing that, when it comes to expenditure in education, he has performed better than the Mahama Era. He explained that between 2013 and 2016, the public expenditure on education was GHC20.7 billion but has almost doubled to GHC40.4 billion between 2017 and 2020 during the Akufo-Addo era which represents an increase of some 95%.
What are your thoughts on the expenditure the president has made so far in the education sector? Thanks for reading this article and have a nice day. Don’t forget to like, share and follow my page.
