Moses Kuria, who is currently hospitalized has informed President Uhuru Kenyatta that the country is now in big trouble, after it emerged that Kenya will be spending alot to pay its debt.
“Dear President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Bloomberg report has confirmed what we have been telling you. The economy is in deep trouble. 90% of your cabinet starting with your CS for National Treasury are focussing on running for seats in 2022. Kindly dissolve your entire cabinet and replace them with a Rescue Team from the Private Sector to help you through the 7 month transition.
Moi did it with the dream team when the economy was collapsing. You are at exactly the same spot as Moi was in 1999. Mr President, save Kenya and release your Ministers like Sicily, Balala, Chelugui etc to go look for seats. The likes of Jimnah Mbaru, Patrick Obath, Dr Julius Kipngetich, Dr James Mwangi and even Gina Din can be signed up on loan till the end of the season,” Moses said.
According to Bloomberg report,Kenya’s cost of debt services is expected to grow 22% on the year, is expected to rise further as the East African economy’s currency collapses to its lowest against the dollar.
Kenya’s Finance Ministry plans to spend a record 1.17 trillion shillings ($10.4 billion) for the year through the end of June to repay loans, or about two-thirds of budget, according to reports.
The figure will be compounded by a 2.6-percent decline in the Kenyan shilling so far this year, after the currency fell to 112.06 per dollar.
