Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu is expecting more output from his charges despite a recent run of impressive form.

The defending champions have lost just a game – 2-0 in week four against AshantiGold at Len Clay Stadium before taking on Jeunesse Sportive de Saoura of Algeria in a botched CAF Confederation Cup campaign. The 21 time Ghana champions had three opening draws with victories against Elmina Sharks, Accra Lions in week eight and nine. Week 10 produduced their fourth draw in a 2-2 finish at the Dawu Park to Dreams FC after picking three points in three opening games against Legon Cities FC, Aduana Stars and West Africa Football Academy. The 2000 CAF Champions League winners nailed former champions, Berekum Chelsea 2-0 in a week five outstanding game at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday but coach Samuel Boadu believes his team needs to do more.

“It was a very tough game, because of the rains we didn’t see the beauty of the game but we thank God that we have won 2-0. Samuel Boadu was asked whether his charges have reached the level he expects them to be but he answered in the negative. “Not yet, what they did was not the expectation. “Because we want them to come up more than this. “During the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup, there were a lot of injuries and even our league there was injury.

“They are now coming gradually and I believe that with time, the team will go to the higher standard,” Samuel Boadu told StarTimes. “Now we are done with this [against Berekum Chelsea], so we are going back to prepare ahead of the next match. “Whoever comes, we are preparing to take that three maximum points.” Samuel Boadu added. Hearts of Oak now sit 9th on the league table with 13 points and still have two outstanding games against Asante Kotoko and Medeama to clear.
