A 30 years old lady by the name of Comfort Tawiah has gone blind as her boyfriend poured acid on her body. Comfort is a resident of Bodwease in the Central region. Her boyfriend is Agbeko popularly known as King Duga who is from Kasoa. The two have a child together and after some misunderstandings, they pattered ways.
However, Agbeko came back to Bodwease to spend some time with his girlfriend. After the two had sexual intercourse together, Agbeko started going through Comfort’s phone to see if he had gotten a new boyfriend.
This resulted in a scuffle between the two and Agbeko poured acid on Comfort. Her body got burnt and she has now gone blind. Agbeko is well known to be a thief in the area.
According to one of his friends who is a mechanic, he came to him that he wanted some of the liquid in a car battery that contains acid which the friend gave him. He later came to him that he wanted Raw acid to kill some insects in his room and that the car battery liquid was not strong enough. But the friend did not have so he went to Kasoa and got the acid. After causing this harm to Comfort Tawiah he escaped and has since not been found.
According to the mother of Comfort, Madam Helena Mensah, Comfort has been taken to Korle Bu, Ridge hospital, 37 military hospitals and others but to no avail. They were told that nothing can be done about her situation. She was given some oil to be used on her skin till her wounds heal.
Madam Helena pleaded with Ghanaians to help her get the needed medical attention so that her daughter’s sight can be regained because she cannot take care of her blind daughter and her son in this state.
