The overall best Category ‘A’ Senior High School, St Andrews SHS in the Central Region outperformed all the rest of the schools in Ghana this year to emerge the winners per the available statistics of WAEC and best results of the students.
The adage that goes “there is no smoke without fire” would be understood better today by Ghanaians after noticing the real reason behind the greatest success of St. Andrews SHS as the school dazzled and displayed the highest academic performance this year.
St Andrews SHS was established in the year 2005 by the Ghanaian multiple-award winner Dr Richard Kofi Asiedu who is the CEO of St Andrews Group of Schools and Companies in Ghana.
Undoubtedly, the schools performance over the years has gone up astronomically looking at the historic display of excellent results and positive impact of the students in our societies.
Now lets see the real reasons why St Andrews SHS Assin Fosu became the overall best school in the country with regard to 2020 and 2021 WASSCE.
1. St Andrews SHS recorded 100% and 98.8 % pass in WASSCE 2021 and 2020 respectively The most mesmerizing aspect of this was that out of the total number of 446,352 candidates that sat for the WASSCE per WAEC statistics, 30 students recorded 8A’s and 98% distinctions this year.
2. The students are taught by PhD, Masters and First Degree holders from highly recognised educational institutions in and outside the country serving as teachers and facilitators at St Andrews SHS.
3. Conducive and serene teaching and learning environment. The school boast of the best facilities from Science laboratory, ICT Lab, library, Practical room for Home Economics, Visual Arts studio etc.
4. Discipline and hardworking: The students of St Andrews SHS are disciplined. It is difficult to find students roaming about outside the campus under the watch of the experienced, well-trained securities with CCTV cameras, barbed wires etc.
Students study very well under the supervision of teachers during the normal classes hours and prep periods.
5. Radio studies during weekends: Rich FM 98.7 found within the premises of the school owned by Dr Richard Asiedu permits students to embarked on English Education and many others as ways and means of helping students get more A1’s in the various subjects.
