The recent circulating news that has undoubtedly sparked massive stir, debates and arguments across all social media platforms was when an inmate allegedly committed suicide at the western regional police cells as the bereaved family of the deceased are currently seeking answers from the police over the untimely death of their relative.
With respect to this, the Western regional police command has taken the privilege to investigate the circumstances that led to the untimely death of an innocent taxi driver in their custody after the suspect was placed on remand.
According to the western regional police public relations officer, DSP Olivia Ewurabena, the deceased Joseph Entwi, who was a 52-year old taxi driver, allegedly committed suicide at the cell’s bathroom with the help of his own jeans trouser.
However, family of the deceased agrees otherwise upon hearing about the untimely death of their relative as they’re currently seeking more evidence from the western regional police command in other to prove their claims about the death of the 52-year old taxi driver.
With respect to this, Mr Antwi, who couldn’t believe the sad ordeal expressed his immense disappointment in the western regional police command over his relative’s untimely death considering how he was still finding it difficult to accept the alleged suicide claim by the police.
“Why didn’t the police inform us? I saw about 25 inmates at the cells when we visited the police station so didn’t any of them go to the bathroom except my nephew?”, Mr Antwi emphatically queried.
With respect to this, the western regional police command have assured further investigations into the most anticipated case.
