The genesis of many misfortunes gives no clues as to the damage to be caused in the nearby future. It all happens in just a split second before your mind is made aware of the problem at stake. This is exactly what happened to this 22 year old lady known as Marita. Just as she thought all was going well as planned, life pulled the bad cards against her and there was nothing she could do about that.
Marita grew up with her grandmother not because she was an orphan but, because her parents abandoned her after seeing her condition. I wonder the kind of parents who maroon their kid on a lonely island when she needs them the most. Young Marita was facing a double dilemma. She lost both legs and both parents at the same time. Let us delve into how this happened all at once.
Afrimax English channel is back with another touching story. Young Marita lived in an area where a lot of people believed in the existence of witchcraft. Whenever a misfortune happened, there strongly had a link with witchcraft and therefore, they didn’t treat witchcraft as an ordinary thing.
According to her grandmother, she went out to play with some kids one day and came back with a high temperature and yellow eyes. Grandmother thought it would be self limiting but it proved to increase as minutes went by.
For this reason, she took her to a local hospital where the doctors injected her with an unknown drug. This drug was to calm the situation instead, it only ended up making everything worse. Her body started changing and she developed black spots on her body.
Grandmother claims she was then transferred to a much bigger hospital for treatment and after admission for two weeks, they still couldn’t find the problem. The body of Marita was drying up and the doctors suggested they cut her legs so as to prevent her whole body from drying up.
Grandmother was stuck in between letting her granddaughter die or live her whole life in a miserable state. This had become a headache for her as she claims some hospital workers advised her to let the girl die. All this while, the parents of Marita were fighting at home, claiming their daughter had invited witchcraft upon their family. They feared they would be next in line after their daughter’s condition. For this reason, they had to run away before she even returned.
Well, Marita has had her legs cut and she claims she feels bad whenever she remembers when she had legs. Her parents never returned after leaving and they didn’t even transfer a penny to grandmother for her little expenses. This is the dilemma of young Marita and she claims never is she going to forgive her parents for this neglect.
