Controversial social media icon, Afia Schwarzenegger has heaped praises on the Greater Accra Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey following the fight that broke out at the parliament house during a debate on the controversial E-levy.

It was reported yesterday that the 8th parliament of government during a debate on the E-levy proposed by the Finance Minister in the 2020 ‘Agyenkwa’ budget engaged in a heated argument that escalated into a physical brawl among the members of parliament.
The sit-in Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu, had announced that a division will be followed to approve the Bill, presented under a certificate of urgency, and he was going to vote as well in his capacity as a Member of Parliament.
Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) appeared to be enraged by this, questioning his decision to vote after presiding over the night’s proceedings as they moved to the front of the dais, issuing threats at the Bekwai MP.
In reaction to that, Afia Schwarzenegger has heaped praises on Hon. Henry Quartey for the significant role he played during the fight at the parliament house. She intimated that she is in support of the fight that broke out as it shows how dedicated our MPs are to their job.
