The most expensive and biggest funeral in Ghana happened in Nkoranza and was done by Mr. Nick Danso Abbeam, the rich son of the late Madam Abena Achiaa.

Ghanaians take great pride in making coffins that reflect the lives, dreams, passions, and status of the dead. Loved ones believe the dead should get the best possible send-off, with funerals being elaborate affairs.

For some time, the burial of Mr. Nick Adjei Danso Abbeam’s late mother has been known as the most expensive in all of Ghana’s recorded burial history.

Helicopters transported the body of Madam Abena to her home town. The first dead body dropped off for a helicopter transport was the talk of the town because no other funeral gas matched it at the time.Up to this date, it still stands out because it was a burial in its own class.

A replica of Michael Jackson’s “blinging gold coffin” was used for her burial. The whole cost of the coffin, including transportation, came to roughly $75,000 in the United States. This one is the most costly coffin to bury someone in Ghana.

Mr. Abeam’s friends and colleagues from Europe also attended his burial, one of whom gave $200,000. An additional GHC7 billion was donated to the funeral by all of Mr. Danso Abeam’s individually held businesses.

If you believe Yuh has witnessed more expensive burials, please share your thoughts in the comments section.I think, up to date, no funeral in Ghana has matched this awesome record.
