Thank you for clicking on this article and before I proceed, I respectfully request that you share your experience with us regarding the sit down by strike by some drivers across the the country yesterday. Now let’s delve into the subject matter.

Host of the Newday show on TV3, Johnnie Hughes has opined that what happened yesterday in some regions of the country was a national “e-walking” day.

He made this suggestion during the editorial episode of the show dubbed; “Johnnie’s bite” where he gets to express his opinion on some topical matters in the country.

Thousands of Ghanaians commuters were left stranded yesterday after drivers and owners of commercial transport services embarked on a sit down strike in some regions across the country.

The move was in reaction towards the high cost of fuel in the country. Part of their please was a call on government to scrap some petroleum taxes to enable some level of reduction in the pumps.

Commenting on the matter, Johnnie Hughes called out the people who insult journalists who call on government to do the right things.

”They are recruiting you to insult the people who are speaking on your behalf and asking the questions on your behalf. Are you happy with yourself? Yesterday, when the drivers went on strike and we were all walking, everybody was walking because it was a National e-walking day. We were all walking and keeping fit by force, by fire, they (politicians) were driving in their luxurious 4×4” he said among others.

Johnnie Hughes admonished people to always be mindful of the National good and not political party interests.
