The member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram Constituency, Sam Nartey George has criticized the deputy majority leader and member of Parliament for the Efutu Constituency, Honorable Alexander Afenyo Markin for some claims he has made against the NDC and the Speaker of Parliament, Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.

The Ningo Prampram Legislator was speaking on the Newsfile show on Joynews today, December 4, 2021, regarding the latest brouhaha on the approval of the budget in Parliament.

Honorable Afenyo Markin has criticized members of the opposition and tagged some of them as “evil beings” who invite other MPs to engage in indiscipline. He also accused the Speaker of not according the NPP leadership in Parliament enough time to make their case chambers during a meeting on grounds that Kelvin Taylor was insulting and accusing him of deliberately attempting to help the majority approve the budget. He further revealed that the NDC has had agreement with the NPP leadership for a review of the e-levy.

Responding to these claims, Honorable Sam George reiterated; “Let me state that it is most unfortunate that the Honorable Afenyo Markin would assume and ascribe ill-motive and describe some of his colleagues as evil beings and all kinds of things that I leave him to his conscience”.

Speaking further, Honorable Sam George indicated that the NPP talks about building concession but go on radio and make all manner of statements against the Speaker and members of the minority.

He said the Speaker adjourned sitting for 30 minutes for the house to reconvene but returned 3 hours later and so it is wrong for the majority to accuse the Speaker of bad faith.
