She is one of the finest media personalities on the airwaves.
Born and bred in Kumasi, Frema Adunyame is an Ashanti from Manso Nkwanta to be precise when her mother hails from. His father is also from Effigyase near Ejisu all in the Ashanti Region.
She had her secondary education at St Monica’s Senior High School in Asante Mampong where she completed in 1999 at age 18.
Frema who had always wanted to be a journalist didn’t want to stay at home whiles awaiting her results and so started as a panelist on a show at GBC’s Garden City Radio in Kumasi. She then moved to Radio Mercury which is now owned by Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom (Opambour) where she started as a news presenter. She left for Inviscible FM now Nhyira FM owned by the Multimedia Group where she did news, presenting shows, announcements etc. She later joined Fox FM all in Kumasi before she got admission to University of Ghana.
She completed University of Ghana, School of Performing Arts majoring in Radio, Television and Video (RTV).
She revealed she was nine months pregnant with her first child when she was writing her final exam and gave birth 13 days later.
Frema did her national service at TV3 where she worked as a news anchor and reporter for four years. She has also worked at ETV Ghana and Metro TV where she was a presenter on their breakfast show and also hosted Panorama, a documentary on tourism and culture.
The season media practitioner with a wealth of experience in radio and television is also an Artist Manager, having managed Gospel superstar Nii Okai and highlife sensation Kwabena Kwabena.
Having attended a number of training courses with Voice of America (VOA) and Canon France International, she now works with Citi FM /Citi TV as a reporter, news broadcaster, producer and co host of the hit show “Upside Down”.
Frema who was married to businessman Lalus Ashkar, hence her former name Frema Ashkar is blessed with two boys.
