Wendy Shay’s prayers have been answered as Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Rocky Dawuni has responded to her plea to enlighten Ghanaian musicians on how to get a nod at the Grammys.
The legendary musician’s response comes a few days after the RuffTown Records signee sent him a passionate appeal on Twitter following news of his nomination at the 64th Grammy Awards.
Wendy Shay asked the two-time Grammy nominee to help her and her colleagues with ‘connections’ to also gain international recognition that will open doors for them to win a trophy at the prestigious award ceremony someday.
“Chairman Rocky Dawuni show us the Grammy way cos connection dey pass application”, Wendy Shay tweeted.

Sharing his experience, Rocky Dawuni schooled Wendy Shay on the most appropriate way to get a nomination which does not include ‘connection’.
Rocky Dawuni told Okyeame Quophi in an interview on Angel FM that the only way one can get a Grammy nomination is by composing great songs and making sure that the composition has a quality sound.
Additionally, he disclosed that the processes a song submitted for a Grammy nomination goes through before it is nominated do not make it possible for anyone to influence the awards scheme.
