The Special One has told the Ghanaian prodigy that he would buy a new pair of boots for him if he scores against Genoa. And indeed, Afena-Gyan came off the bench to score two goals as Roma beat Genoa away from home to move to 5th on the Serie A league table.
Mourinho had opened up on the situation by telling reporters thus: “I had promised to buy Felix the boots he really likes, which are really expensive. They cost €800, so he ran over and told me not to forget! Tomorrow morning, the first thing I do is buy him the boots.”
In a new video showing the fulfillment of what he said, Mourinho is seen handing over the package to an emotional Afena-Gyan, who received it with a smile on his face after which he gave a celebratory dance.
