Delay said it was a huge blunder for the Lynx Entertainment stars to invite their lookalikes on stage during their recent outdoor program and give them such huge prominence.
Delay said there was nothing wrong in vibing with their fans but to go as far as giving them microphones and performing with them on a big stage is not good for their reputable brands.
The former TOP radio presenter said now when people go online, they only search for KiDi and Kuame Eugene’s lookalikes and not the artistes themselves.
In other news, VGMA Rapper of the Year in 2017, M.anifest has bemoaned the role of the media in stifling the growth of potential hitmakers at the expense of only a few mainstream artistes.
In a recent interview with Graphic , M.anifest talked about Amaarae who is making Ghana proud by making an appearance in US Billboard charts despite not having the backing of the media in Ghana.
“Anybody that has been successful from Ghana has been bold and charted a new path. You’ve seen what is happening with Amaarae.
“Well, she may not be popular in Ghana but it doesn’t matter because now she is charting on the US Billboard charts, nobody has done it and that is what I’m talking about. If you are an artiste, you know you don’t have plenty of resources but you have to use your creativity to break new grounds,” he noted.
On the media focusing on only a few people and relegating the others to the background in the process, M.anifest said thus;
“The Ghanaian music industry is not just about three or four people but unfortunately, the media has limited the conversation to a few people. I’m very confident about the next generation of artistes but their works must be heard and not left to go unnoticed,” he said.
