The Northern Regional Health Directorate has announced an increase in Covid-19 confirmed cases in the region.

Confirmed cases, according to the regional Health Director, Dr John Eleeza, has increased from a previous 19 cases to 32.

Dr Eleeza, addressing the increment in the region’s case count, explained that the increase was due to the results obtained through the 200 contact tracing tests done.

Thirteen (13) people out of the 200 people tested came out positive and that is why the case count has increased to 32. Nine (9) of the 12 persons that tested positive are males and the remaining four being females which include a five-year-old-girl, he noted.

He urged the media to help educate people in the region about the existence of the pandemic.

Out of the Northern region’s 32 Covid-19 case count, 12 recoveries with one death have been recorded so far.
