Historically, somewhere in the year 2009, Ghanaian reggae artiste Blakk Rasta, who is a household name in his homeland, has the distinction of dining with US President Barack Obama and not losing the common touch.
The year 2009 is one which Blakk Rasta will always remember in a special way. He says that his song, titled “Barack Obama”, was among the reasons that brought the first black president of the United States to Ghana that year, for his first visit to that part of Africa.
Since then, Blakk Rasta has never lost the common touch in releasing songs and albums and now can boast of eleven (11) live-recorded albums to his credit.
But according to Blakk Rasta, it saddens his heart considering the fact that he’s lyrically intoxicated with anything music, but he gets less recognition and appreciation from Ghanaians.
To the best knowledge of Blakk Rasta, the Kuchoko legend, songs made by only computers with no live instrumentation get the needed attention from Ghanaians which shouldn’t be so.
