Ebony Reigns used to be one of the best female entertainers in the music industry. The “90’s bad girl” broke into the music scene with some of her most popular hit songs “Maame Hwe”, “Sponsor”, “Hustle”, “Kupe” and “Konkonsa Police”, making one of the few songstresses to achieve such great heights with their craft in music.

Unfortunately, Ebony Reigns passed away tragedically after she was killed instantly in a traffic collision on 8 February 2018 whilst returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother. Her assistant and longtime friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and soldier Atsu Vondee were also killed in the fatal accident.

Although she is no more, Ghanaians will never forget the impact and her enormous contribution to the Ghanaian music industry and the growth of African music.

A fan has taken to social media to celebrate the late singer, saying that her absence in the music industry has made things very shaky in the entertainment fraternity.

However, a few people on the platform disagreed with the claim that the Ghana music industry has been deteriorating since Ebony Reigns died.
