Ghana international, Gideon Mensah has been ruled out of Girondins de Bordeaux’s encounter against Saint-Etienne in the French Ligue 1 this weekend.
The defender was part of the Black Stars squad that played against Ethiopia and South Africa in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers earlier this month.
Having traveled to South Africa, a country marked in the Orange Zone of the French government amid the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Gideon Mensah has had to stay in isolation for a while.
Although he was expected to be out of isolation and ready to go by this weekend, it has not happened.
As a result, Gideon Mensah will not be available for selection when his new club Girondins de Bordeaux plays as a guest to Saint-Etienne this weekend.
The game between the two sides in the French Ligue 1 will be played on Saturday night.
