Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor and his two Assistants were yesterday axed by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association.
The board took a decision to terminate the appointment of Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor and his two Assistants after a poor run to the starting of the World cup qualifying matches.
During his two years at the helm of affairs, CK Akonnor’s games have not been encouraging and during one of the matches, a fan who was fumed about his poor tactics used unprinted against him from the stands.
The fumed fan who is of Ga descent insulted the coach with their usual slogan ‘onyaa ye soome’.
Ghana currently has three points after opening two games of the World Cup qualifiers. As a reminder, the Black Stars will take on Zimbabwe in the next round of games in October 2021.
