Adjetey Anang, Denzel Washington and Majid Michel
Popular Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has chosen his colleague Majid Michel and Hollywood superstar Denzel Washington as his favourite actors.
Speaking to Natalia Andoh on the Touch of Class of Class91.3FM on Wednesday, 8 August 2021, [Actors Day], Mr Annan said he likes the versatility of both superstars.
He stated that “if its globally, you’re looking at no other than Denzel (Washington) but if its within our shores then its Majid (Michel).”
Explaining his choice, Mr Annan popularly known as “Pusher” for his role in a popular TV series “Things we do for love” said, “it’s Denzel because of his versatility and the fact that even beyond the characters he has played, in his personal life, he’s been able to serve as a model for young people, for the next generation.”
“I believe that being an actor goes beyond the front of the screen, being an actor is so powerful that we can transform lives. Our work doesn’t end in front of the camera, we’ve become tools to impact lives…,” he added.
Asked if being articulate in English makes one a better actor in Ghana, Mr Annan said “it is one of the boxes you thick in terms of delivery but certainly not the entire thing, it’s just an ad on.”
The multiple award-winning actor has featured in many Ghanaian movies, including Deadly Voyage, A Sting in a Tale, The Perfect Picture and others.
He has also featured in a Dutch movie titled Slavery.
