Zimbabwe were held on home turf by South Africa in the opening fixture of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday afternoon.
The Warriors of Zimbabwe played a 0-0 draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the National Sports Stadium.
Hugo Broos who took charge of his first game as coach of South Africa named a strong attack which included Luther Singh, Percy Tau, Gift Links and Evidence Makgopa in the quest to get a flying start to the qualifiers.
But they were held by Zimbabwe under the auspices of former Asante Kotoko coach Zdravko Logarusic who got his tactics right against the Bafana Bafana.
