Senior Linguistics Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Professor Kofi Agyekum, has reiterated the need for Ghanaians to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols.

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have soared high with a high mortality rate.

According to data provided by the Ghana Health Service, Ghana’s active cases currently stand at 7153 and deaths recorded are 1025.

Speaking on Peace FM’s ”Kokrokoo”, Prof. Kofi Agyekum, popularly called Opanyin Agyekum decried the unconcerned attitude of some Ghanaians towards the viral disease.

He was disgusted by the thoughts of some Ghanaians that the disease only infects rich people and further rebuked the people who have either refused or don’t wear their nose masks, practice social distancing and observe all other preventive etiquettes.

“It’s killing both the rich and the poor . . . so, those in the village who think it’s a disease for the rich should be careful because you don’t have a saviour if you contract it,” he exclaimed.

Opanyin Agyekum admonished the citizenry to religiously abide by the protocols to curb the pandemic.
