Aug. 19 (UPI) — Taika Waititi rang in his 46th birthday with his girlfriend, singer Rita Ora, and their celebrity friends.
The New Zealand writer, director and producer celebrated the occasion Tuesday at a star-studded party.
Ora shared a slideshow of photos from the bash Wednesday on Instagram, which included a picture of her presenting Waititi with a birthday cake.
Actors Kristen Stewart, Rami Malek, Kate Beckinsale, Ashley Benson and television personality Vas J Morgan were among the guests in attendance.
“My fave couple ever,” Morgan wrote in the comments.
Morgan also remarked on Waititi and Ora’s relationship while wishing Waititi a happy birthday in a post on Instagram.
“Happy Birthday @taikawaititi thank you for sharing your talent, charm and humor with us all. You’re truly deserving of all the blessings life has to offer,” Morgan said.
“Thank you for showing my bestie that she is worthy of real love and happiness, the similarities between you both is worryingly perfect and watching your happiness grow together warms my heart,” he added. “Waititi Day.”
Waititi and Ora made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Los Angeles premiere of The Suicide Squad earlier this month.
Waititi and Ora were first linked in April and were spotted getting close to actress Tessa Thompson in May. Waititi defended his moment with Ora and Thompson in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald in June.
“I think in the world of the Internet, everything goes away pretty quick,” he said. “And also, ‘Is it that big a deal?’ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.”
Waititi will next direct the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thor: Love and Thunder, which opens in theaters in May 2022. Ora last released the EP Bang with Imanbek in February.
