Middle Belt Development Authority constructs public square at Juaben

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commissioned the Adu Boahen Public Square at Juaben in the Ashanti Region.

The project was funded using the President’s one constituency, one million dollars initiative and spearheaded by the Middle Belt Development Authority.

Addressing journalists after the commissioning, the Chief Executive Officer of the Middle Belt Development Authority, Joe Danquah, said the project cost GHS1,620,000.

He explained that the Adu Boahen public square will serve as a multi-purpose event hosting centre.

The ceremony was chaired by the Omanhene of the Juaben Traditional Council, Daasebre Otuo Serebour II who doubles as the Chairman of the Council of State.

Present at the commissioning ceremony were President Nana Akufo-Addo, Daasebre Otuo Serebour II, some members of the Council of State, the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen, who is also the son of the late Professor Adu Boahen.

The rest are Ama Pomaa Boateng, MP for Juaben and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digitalization, CEO Middle Belt Development Authority, Joe Danquah and his team.

During a site visit on June 2, 2021, the CEO  of the Development Authority assured that the project would be completed within the specified period as indicated in the contract.

The contract was awarded to Earth Masters Company Ltd. It comprises a conference hall, resting facilities, VVIP area, 8 different pavilions, a magnificent place for traditional rulers and a separate design for the president and others.

Mr. Joe Danquah used the opportunity to outline a number of projects initiated in Juaben by the Middle Belt Development Authority under the one constituency, one million dollars per constituency initiative.
